ocean of feathers
Ventre Canard is already identified by her angels as ‘the muting author’ as she is muting disrespectful readers in her story. But as the number of reads in her story rose, so are the numbers of disrespectful readers.
Wattpad is a platform where freedom of speech is not violated and there are cases where this thing called “freedom of speech” is being misused or abused rather. The word ‘respect’ is violated, and in some way through her stories and her social media accounts, Ventre Canard made a strong impression of honoring the word. To counter this issue, Ventre Canard, the muting author, arrived at a resolution to use her own kind of censorship, her “muting angels''. And as a sign of being grateful, she thanked them by dedicating each chapter of Ocean of Feathers to every muting angel also using their names as the names for the one-shot story’s characters. Ocean of Feathers’ chapters is connected though it is claimed to be one-shot stories for her muting angels. The chapters reveal something about the vintage days and it appeals to the sense of sight with a plot of tragedy and revival of love. Without directly showing, the controlling ideas that can be discerned in the story were the idea of accomplishing something and the idea of time being the most important element in a fragment of one’s life. |
Kap started writing the story on November 27, 2017. Titanic was the title of its first chapter. It was dedicated to Mr. Arns Laurel, one of Ventre Canard’s archangels since September 10, 2017. According to him, the first story that he read from Ventre Canard's work is ‘Living in the Arms of Five Hot Jerks’ but Ventre Canard changed its title to ‘Caught in His Arms’. Arns admitted that he knew about the dedication chapter. It started when he won a game with Ms. Kai Lagura, one of Ventre Canard's UDC. He helped Ventre Canard during the muting days for the reason that the number of disrespectful readers grew more.
Chapter 77 is the latest chapter on Ocean of Feathers and it's dedicated to Ms. Belle Avanzado. She became a reader of Ventre Canard's work way back in 2016 but she became an official angel in 2017. According to her, she has the idea about the draft of short stories that was dedicated to deserving angels or archangels. She became an inactive angel due to personal matters but when she read the latest update of Ventre Canard, she felt overwhelmed and shocked at the same time because according to her, she didn't expect that the draft story was going to be posted and Ventre Canard dedicated one of its chapters to her. Ms. Belle Avanzado said that she remembered her biggest fear, which is losing loved ones. She remembered it after she finished the chapter.
Trixie Delos Reyes, a proud angel, and a silent reader were one of her muting angels. Ventre Canard dedicated the 55th chapter of the story to her. She said that she was very ecstatic the first time she laid eyes on to the chapter dedicated to her. “…una, hindi ako makapaniwala kasi buong pangalan ko ang nakalagay doon… sobrang saya at proud ako kasi nagkaroon ako ng story na gawa ni Kap at naitype ni Kap ang buong pangalan ko,” said Trixie. She further added that the author is really admirable for her humble personality, that the faceless author really gained readers for her amazing stories like Ocean of Feathers and not for anything else.
Ocean of Feathers is just one of the amazing literary pieces of Ventre Canard that folks should read. This story does not fail to amaze readers because it also reveals a fragment of the author’s personality. Each chapter is unique for it serves different tastes of what life is. It is a reflection of the love that has a sense of familiarity and indifference at the same time. Some chapters gave the readers a feeling of “almost but not quite” vibe that proffered different reactions. The readers expressed the connection they felt for the characters by sharing their thoughts in the comments along with the chapters which made a significant impact on Kapitana's pure talent in crafting good stories. Those are the reasons why readers flock to the story aside from being a dedication to her muting angels.
As of now, the story has a total of 144 chapters dedicated to her muting angels with 3 million reads and counting. And as to questions about the number of fixed chapters of dedication, it is in the hands of Kapitana to address the matter. Until then, it is only for us to respect her resolution.
Like the muting angels mentioned above, surely the rest are so grateful and overwhelmed for the author’s different way of appreciating them during the muting days as they exceeded extra effort to mute disrespectful readers and to help Ventre Canard, the muting author live up to one of her remarkable maxims as a faceless writer: Embrace the silence, avoid war.
Yes, Ocean of Feathers is a token of appreciation and efforts, but also a token full of class and lecture. A token that is also worth an ocean of appreciation in return for the exceptional author’s notable flair for weaving stories.
